The System Sensor WFD30N 3" waterflow detector is designed for fire sprinkler monitoring on 3-inch steel pipes. This new addition to the WFDN series from System Sensor features a rugged, NEMA 4-rated enclosure that offers increased damage resistance compared to previous metal designs. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, this waterflow detector boasts the widest temperature range available, from 32F to 150F, making it versatile for various environments.
Approved for installation on a wide range of pipe schedules, the WFD30N can be installed on sizes 2 inches through 4 inches on pipe schedules 7 through 40. UL-listed models of the detector come equipped with tamper-resistant cover screws to prevent unauthorized entry. Inside, two sets of SPDT (Form C) synchronized switches are enclosed in a durable terminal block with a new layout for easy wiring with wire-ready terminals. The terminals are on a different elevation, and large barriers between switches, along with easy-to-read raised textured lettering, further simplify the wiring process.
For added security, an optional cover tamper switch is available for the WFD30N, which securely snaps into place without the need for tools. The WFDN series incorporates a mechanical time delay feature to minimize the risk of false alarms caused by pressure surges or air trapped in the fire sprinkler system. The large, easy-to-turn timer dial features high-contrast pad printed markings for straightforward setting of the waterflow detector. With three tabs on the dial for easy turning, including a larger tab for approximately 60 seconds and a notch for approximately 30 seconds, setting the detector in dimly lit locations is made simple.
