The N.E.G. MICON TAC 84C Vibration Guard (RS485) is a state-of-the-art monitoring solution designed to detect and protect rotating machinery, such as motors, pumps, compressors, and turbines, from the damaging effects of vibration and imbalance. Featuring an RS485 communication interface, this device integrates easily with SCADA, PLC, and DCS systems, providing real-time data transmission for remote monitoring, alarm triggering, and trend analysis.

Equipped with a high-precision accelerometer, the TAC 84C continuously measures vibration levels in axial, radial, and tangential directions, offering multi-axis protection that helps prevent mechanical failure before it occurs. The guard’s configurable alarm thresholds, delay settings, and programmable relay outputs allow tailored protection strategies to meet the specific requirements of industrial environments. With four relay channels available, users can isolate machinery from power on excessive vibration, automatically safeguarding equipment integrity and minimizing downtime.

Housed in a rugged IP66-rated enclosure, the TAC 84C is designed for reliability in harsh industrial settings — offering resistance to dust, moisture, and temperature extremes. Its compact footprint and DIN-rail or wall-mount compatibility make it easy to install on motor control centers or machinery panels. The built-in RS485 port supports Modbus RTU communication over long cable runs, enabling central monitoring of multiple units via standard network backbones.

The N.E.G. MICON TAC 84C Vibration Guard boasts advanced diagnostic capabilities, including built-in self-test routines, event logging, and integration with PC-based configuration tools for on-site parameter tuning. Ideal for industries such as oil & gas, power generation, marine propulsion, and paper manufacturing, this unit enhances asset reliability and extends equipment life. Its combination of precision vibration measurement, flexible communication, and modular alarm functionality makes it a dependable component in any condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategy.
